Anne Hathaway MCU in Talks with Marvel Studios
Hollywood actress Anne Hathaway is once again in the spotlight, this time because of possible talks with Marvel Studios. Reports suggest she may join the Marvel Cinematic Universe in a major role, although nothing has been officially confirmed yet.
This news comes shortly after it was reported she had turned down the role of the villain in the upcoming Spider-Man: Brand New Day. Fans were shocked by this news, although it seems it is not because she is not interested in superhero roles.
Industry insider Jeff Sneider revealed that Marvel had approached Hathaway for an “older female antagonist” role. Actress Sarah Snook was also considered, but neither ended up taking the part.
Hathaway has always been selective with her roles. She prefers characters that challenge her acting skills and allow her to explore deeper emotions. This explains why she might have passed on the opportunity, even though it was part of a major franchise.
Interestingly, Hathaway has been connected to the Spider-Man world before. Years ago, she was rumored to play Black Cat in Sam Raimi’s canceled Spider-Man 4. That project never happened, but it shows that her name has been linked to Marvel for quite some time.
Now, fans are excited again, wondering what role she could take if she officially joins the MCU. With new storylines involving mutants and multiverse plots, Marvel has many characters for her.
She can play the role of a powerful mutant, a strong hero, or even the role of an anti-hero. Considering her performance in her previous roles in movies like “The Devil Wears Prada,” “Les Misérables,” and “The Dark Knight Rises,” Anne Hathaway is capable of delivering any role with depth and charisma.

If she joins Marvel, it would be a big win for the studio. Her star power and acting ability could add a fresh layer to future MCU stories. Marvel has been focusing on mixing well-known stars with new talent, and Hathaway fits perfectly into that approach.
For now, everything remains a rumor. Being “in talks” does not mean a deal has been finalized. Marvel is known for keeping its plans secret until official announcements are made.
Still, the excitement is real. If Anne Hathaway becomes part of The Mutant Saga in the MCU, it could be one of the biggest casting stories in recent years.
